“日本初”をシンプルに表現する「升」

浅草の仲店通りから少し西側の路地にあるアイスクリーム店舗である。既存建物である木造長屋は2区画に分節が既に施された建物で、1階部分は元々飲食店舗が営まれていた。日本初の日本酒アイスの専門店として話題となったSAKEICEの第一号店として、訪日外国人や観光客の方々に直感的に日本らしさを感じてもらえる空間という命題に対して、既存建物の1階外壁を削ぎ落とし、木軸を現しにすること、その中にヒノキによる内装を施す事で“枡”を挿入した印象を喚起している。

This ice cream store is located in an alley slightly west of Nakaten-dori in Asakusa. The existing building, a wooden row house, has already been divided into two sections, and the first floor was originally used as a restaurant. As the first store of SAKEICE, which became a hot topic as the first sake ice cream specialty store in Japan, the proposition was to create a space where foreigners visiting Japan and tourists can intuitively feel Japaneseness. The interior is made of cypress, evoking the impression of a "Masu" (a square box) inserted into the building.
